I’ve submitted wrong details in the registration form, how can I correct them?
All corrections can be handled at the time of physical registrations, nothing needs to be done as of now.
I cannot attend the event for some reason, can someone attend it in my place?
Yes, as long as the following conditions are met: The replacement attendee meets the eligibility criteria. A mail has been written to email@example.com before the event, stating the change. T-Shirt sizes cannot be changed.
Can I cancel my registration?
Cancellations will be handled on a case-to-case basis. Drop an email to firstname.lastname@example.org stating your reason for cancellation. Please note, that NO REFUNDS WILL BE MADE. (T-Shirts and other goodies have already been ordered, a refund is not possible).
Do I need to pay money to register for the Hackathon?
The price of tickets is Rs. 500 for general public. Special coupon codes are available for selected students and our Campus Ambassadors.
Do I need to be in Hyderabad to take part in the Hackathon?
Yes. It is an onsite hackathon
Do I need to have any specific qualification to be a participant for the Hackathon?
Yes, you must be a student from any University/College in India.
What kind of solution will be accepted?
Both technology based as well as non-tech based solutions will be accepted.
Do I have to put my name on the presentation?
Yes, make sure your presentation has a slide containing your name,registration number,etc.
Is it an individual or team event?
Students can participate either way- individually or as a team. The maximum strength of a team can be 4 members.Every team member needs to fulfil the eligibility criteria.
Can a college have multiple teams?
Yes.There is no restriction on the number of teams from a college.
Can the participants of a team be from different colleges?
Yes. There is no restriction here either.
How detailed should be the presentation?
As your solution will be evaluated in your absence, we request you to make your solution as informative as possible and if possible include a F.A.Qs section in your presentation.
What is prototype code?
It is basically a working code of the solution you are providing.It might not be fully prepared with all the functionalities, maybe just with the few main ones.
How is the environment? Will your environment support any language? Will you provide any IDE and DB for us to work on ideas?
You have to develop the entire software application on your local system and submit it on HackerEarth in tar/zip file format along with instructions to run the application and source code.
Does one have to be online and available for the entire duration of the Hackathon?
No, one does not need to be logged in on HackerEarth or be online for the entire duration. You can develop the application on your local system based on the given themes and then submit it on HackerEarth, on the specific challenge page.
Since there is no specific technology mentioned, are there any restrictions on using number of pre-built libraries?
There is no restriction to use any language, technology stack, or libraries. You can use any of them to create the web/mobile application.
Who will own the IP(Intellectual Property) Rights to the product that I have built?
The developer/developers of the web/mobile application will have all rights and own the IP of the product. However, all code needs to be in public domain (open source) so that it can be evaluated by the judges.
